Armagh singing sensation Catherine Grimley officially launched her eagerly awaited debut album on Friday night last in Armagh City Hotel. The Madden Songbird treated her enthralled audience to a tremendous concert, which included many favourites from her debut album ‘In my Father’s House’.

She was backed live by the McCusker family from Madden, who also impressed the crowd with a number of traditional Irish sets.  A stunning Irish Dancing sequence by dancers from the Curran School of Irish Dancing received commendation from the audience.  While Enda Mallon had everyone in stitches with his highly entertaining recitations.  Towards the end of the night, a very special moment took place, as Catherine was joined on stage by her two sisters Maria and Paula for three beautiful and inspiring song renditions.

But it was Catherine who stole the show with her powerful performance throughout the night, singing her trademark ‘Angel’, ‘Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears’ and an awesome duet with Paddy McCusker ‘The streets of Derry’, to name but a few.
The 2-hour concert, left the crowd shouting for more, from the young woman, who is sure to take the Irish Song world by storm, and not one to disappoint Catherine concluded with an encore of the song that secured her an Ulster Scór medal, ‘The banks of the Callen’.This was an exceptional entertaining concert and plans are already underway to bring this concert to larger audiences in the near future.  This was the first solo concert by the 26-year-old singing sensation, and really shows her raw talent and beautiful singing voice.  The concert also proves Catherine is in tune with her audience, with her ability to organise and plans such a wonderful extravaganza.
